I liked it a lot. Food was great, but service was meh. Granted, it is a holiday weekend.
Make sure you bring your own crab crackers as they don't supply any. -

I visited Mr. 3's Gastonia location for the first time with a friend. I have visited the Rock hill location on 2 other occasions. I was extremely impressed when I pulled up to Gastonia location. The parking was sufficient, the appearance inside the restaurant was bright and clean with reggae music playing in the background. The cashier that assisted us was pleasant. The food was delicious. I ordered the Super Seafood Platter and my friend ordered the lobster dinner. The food was delicious to say the least but I did notice that my platter seemed more soupy like a Louisiana style versus the yellow garlic buttery style that I've experienced at the other location. Nevertheless, the food was well seasoned and every bite tasted heavenly. My friend ate all of his food without leaving any leftovers! I will definitely come back to this location because the food was desirable and I enjoyed being able to sit down & have a beer to unwind.

So after hearing about this place over a year, I'm just now getting a chance to check it out. I ordered the Seafood platter $21.99 It included " Crab- Sausage-Potatoes-and Shrimp"
Everything tastes great. I also ordered the Seafood rice, it was pretty good as well. My daughter ordered the Shrimp alfredo- she loved it!. We also purchased the specialty drinks they make in-house This won't be the last time. -

Pros- the portion size is worth the price . I had the super combo platter with 2 crab clusters , lobster tail , shrimp and the side of corn, sausage , and potato. The lobster tail was seasoned just right . The shrimp were cooked well and tasted yummy. The crab clusters were very good . They definitely put a lot of garlic butter sauce on everything .
Con- The potato's were undercooked and a little crunchy . The corn was just ok and well as the sausage. Last the garlic sauce they use is missing something that would set them apart from their competitors. It doesn't penetrate the crab leg meat itself and just sits on the bottom of the container, your hands , or the crab leg shell.
So question is do you do Mr 3s Crab Pot or Seafood Connection ?
Both have similar menus and pricing. Honestly Seafood connection has long lines and wait times for a reason their seasoning is the best in the Queen City. Their potato's and sweet corn are always cooked right . If I have the time I would pick seafood connection over this place. Mr 3s is ok but can use improvement with just the right touch. -

Seafood Connection who? All I know is Mr3s and all I want to know is Mr3s. So let me tell y'all what made me drive 29 mins to Gastonia today to go get what I think is the best seafood in "Charlotte" (Mr3s is located in Gastonia, NC...but they to me are the best seafood in CLT) so Mr3s is at the Taste of Charlotte this wknd and I went out on Friday and had a few of their shrimp. Their shrimp ssssshhhhlllaaaapppss so much that all wknd all I could think about was when was I going to get some more so my Acura sped down 85S , backed in a parking spot, sat down and feasted . The cashier was so friendly , sweet and such a pretty lady. Very helpful . The guys in the back were friendly and made sure we and the others in the restaurant were all happy and satisfied. If you was legit want good seafood (and I'm bias cause I'm from Charleston originally) Mr3s is the place to go. PERIODT! Y'all they sauce is so good too for their prices you get great portion sizes too which I'm a fan of. Will be back !
